how to set boundaries as a coach

Do you fear pissing off your clients and customers? 

I understand where you’re coming from, Coach, because “the customer is always right” right?

We want to treat our clients and customers like gold. We are committed to providing A+++ service.

We are coaches! 

Still, we often forget one important thing:

WE NEED BOUNDARIES.

After all, we don’t allow our children to run the show and, in the same way, you need to decide what’s best for you and your business and not having boundaries as a coach and business woman is NOT in your best interest.

Yes, you want to be generous, you want to over-deliver (without overwhelming people!), and you want to lead.

You do NOT want to be a doormat.

You want to have limits. You want to have a personal set of “terms and conditions.”

Fearing that a client might quit or leave or be unhappy because of a decision we make is not going to be good for business in the long run.

That kind of fear is very un-businesswoman-like.

If clients are late or aren’t showing up for sessions, or they’re not paying on time, or they’re blatantly taking advantage of you (as your gut keeps telling you), you are not leading, you are worrying. But before you can even think about setting boundaries, you have to clean that “worry thinking” up.

BOUNDARIES DON’T WORK WHEN SHROUDED IN FEAR AND WORRY.

Protect your FREEDOM at all costs, Coach.
