LOUSY STORY = NO MONEY
Cold hard truth: The lousy horrible dirty rotten money story that runs in the back of your mind every day, all day, is the reason you’re not able to break through your inner glass ceiling when it comes to making money.
I see it every day: coaches who work hard to build their businesses, attract paying clients, doing “all the things” they believe are necessary to make money as a coach. What they don’t realize is that their emotional DNA is programmed to keep them from making money.
Even if you’ve made money in the past in a prior job, it’s a whole different ball game when you go into business for yourself – a whole other set of thought patterns come into play.
This is exactly what happened to me. Back in my days in radio and television, I made a lot of money. I was given a car and had a clothing allowance that was over the top. I never had to ask for any of this – it’s what I was deemed to be “worth” as a television news anchor and journalist.
Fast forward to running my own business and suddenly there were “issues” when it came to selling, money, and putting myself out there. This is why I believe becoming your own boss has so much to teach us about who we are as women… how we see ourselves and our place in the world, and oftentimes the way we see ourselves is based on a lousy story.
So, it doesn’t matter how successful you may have been before as an employee working for someone else, it’s a whole new ballgame when it comes to working for YOU and asking to be paid what you believe your services are worth.
